Fog

Fog is read as reduced range — a limit on how far you can see rather than on what is there. Water suspended in air. Traditional reading treats fog as a reading problem, not an obstacle: the ground is still there.

Natural features are read by state and conditions. Fog is read as reduced range — a limit on how far you can see rather than on what is there. Traditional readings look at whether it is calm or disturbed, near or distant. Fog that clears exactly as far as you walk is a commonly reported variant, read as range that expands with movement.

Sources note that fog lifts, which distinguishes it from darkness — the limitation is temporary by nature. It is grouped under Water (水) in the five-element system.
