Sun

The sun is read as clarity and as a source outside you — light that does not depend on your supply. The sun is Fire at its largest and most reliable. Traditional reading asks whether it is rising, at height, or setting, since the arc carries the meaning.

Natural features are read by state and conditions. The sun is read as clarity and as a source outside you — light that does not depend on your supply. Traditional readings look at whether it is calm or disturbed, near or distant. A sun that gives light but no warmth is a reported variant, read as clarity without the comfort usually assumed to come with it.

Sources associate the sun with yang at its fullest, and with visibility — things that were hidden becoming plain. It is grouped under Fire (火) in the five-element system.
