Chinese Zodiac Yearly Forecast

Each year in the Chinese calendar is a stem-and-branch pair, and that pair puts every animal in a different position. These pages read that position properly — which branch relationship your animal holds, what the year's element does to yours, and which months of the year carry the result.

Where each animal sits in each year

The same animal can hold a completely different position from one year to the next. A 值太岁 year and a 冲太岁 year are not degrees of the same thing — they are different mechanisms, and they call for opposite behaviour.

How an annual forecast is actually calculated

An annual reading is built from four independent layers, and it is the combination that produces the conclusion — not any one layer on its own.

The branch relationship (太岁). Your birth-year branch sits in one of eight positions relative to the year's branch: value, Six Harmony, Three Harmony, clash, punishment, harm, break, or no relationship. This sets the year's basic texture.
The element dynamic. The year's heavenly stem carries an element, and your own branch carries one. One may feed the other, press on the other, or match it. This decides the mechanism — how the year's pressure or support actually arrives.
The month layer (流月). Each of the twelve lunar months has its own branch. Months that form a relationship with your branch, or with the year's branch, are the months where the annual theme becomes visible.
Your actual chart. All of the above reads your birth year alone. A full BaZi chart has four pillars, and any of the other three can outrank it.

What this is not. None of these pages predict events, and none of them claim that a branch relationship produces good or bad outcomes on its own. What the tradition actually describes is a tendency — which failure mode a year makes more likely, and how much resistance to expect. The rest is what you do with it.
