Horse in Career

The folk reading suits the horse to work with movement, variety and visible forward progress. Career attributions follow the animal's associated temperament and are general rather than prescriptive.

It is one factor among several in the traditional system. The folk reading suits the horse to work with movement, variety and visible forward progress. The year animal is the coarsest of the four pillars — the month, day and hour carry equal weight, and the classical sources never read the year alone. The attributed quality is pace, and the tradition's caution is about sustainability rather than direction.

The characterisation follows the horse's association with travel and with carrying things forward. It is grouped under Fire (火) in the five-element system.
