Rooster in Career

The folk reading suits the rooster to work requiring precision, schedule and clear standards. Career attributions follow the animal's associated temperament and are general rather than prescriptive.

It is one factor among several in the traditional system. The folk reading suits the rooster to work requiring precision, schedule and clear standards. The year animal is the coarsest of the four pillars — the month, day and hour carry equal weight, and the classical sources never read the year alone. The reading is about exactness — the tradition characterises the rooster by its relationship to the schedule.

The characterisation follows the rooster's function and its attributed virtues. It is grouped under Metal (金) in the five-element system.
