Summer

Summer is read as fullness — the stage where growth has happened and the question becomes what to do with it. Summer belongs to Fire, south, and maximum yang. Traditional reading treats it as the peak of a cycle rather than as heat.

Natural features are read by state and conditions. Summer is read as fullness — the stage where growth has happened and the question becomes what to do with it. Traditional readings look at whether it is calm or disturbed, near or distant. An unseasonably quiet summer is a reported variant, read as capacity at full extent but not being spent.

Sources associate summer with visibility and with activity at full extension, and the reading usually concerns capacity being used. It is grouped under Fire (火) in the five-element system.
