The Friends Palace (仆役宫)

Your network, your crowd, your followers.

The Friends Palace (仆役宫, also read as 交友宫) governs the wide social field: colleagues, audiences, communities, followers — everyone you can reach but do not necessarily keep. The Siblings Palace is your inner circle; this one is the room.

What the 仆役宫 governs

Network quality
Whether your wider circle amplifies you or averages you down.
Audience and followers
In modern readings, how the public crowd around you behaves.
Delegation
How well you work through other people — the manager's palace as much as the networker's.
Social cost
What your social life charges you in energy and obligation.

The fourteen stars in the Friends Palace

Whichever major star lands in this palace becomes the protagonist of this area of your life. The readings below describe each star's signature here — brightness and neighbouring stars then set the tone.

StarIn the Friends Palace
Zi Wei 紫微You attract people who want access and few who want equality. The useful discipline is cultivating at least a few relationships with no status dimension at all.
Tian Ji 天机A wide and fluid network rather than a fixed circle. You are good at meeting people and comparatively poor at maintaining the ones you already have.
Tai Yang 太阳Popular, with a wide acquaintance and a specific weakness: being surrounded by people who enjoy the light without contributing to it.
Wu Qu 武曲Few friends, high standard, and reliability in both directions. You are not much for social maintenance and the friendships you keep tend to be decades old.
Tian Tong 天同Wide, warm and undemanding relationships. The weakness is depth: you are liked by many and lightly held by few.
Lian Zhen 廉贞A complex social field with real loyalties and real rivalries. You are a good ally and a dangerous enemy, and people know which of the two they are dealing with.
Tian Fu 天府Carefully chosen, long-standing relationships with people of substance. You are not a collector of acquaintances and the circle tends to be small and durable.
Tai Yin 太阴Few but deep, with women playing a central role in the circle. The relationships are long, specific and emotionally detailed.
Tan Lang 贪狼A wide and colourful network with real value and real noise. The disciplined version of this placement learns which ten people matter and treats the other four hundred as a stream.
Ju Men 巨门Real friendships form slowly here because people read the critical faculty first. Once formed, they are strong — and the ones lost tend to be lost over something that was said.
Tian Xiang 天相Good professional standing and many friendly relations, with the question of depth left open. People trust your judgement and may know rather less about you than they assume.
Tian Liang 天梁The one people bring problems to. This placement is genuinely beloved and can accumulate a great deal of other people's weight without anyone asking about theirs.
Qi Sha 七杀Few, close and tested, with a substantial capacity to have made enemies along the way. You respect people who hold their ground and have limited patience for those who do not.
Po Jun 破军A rotating network with a few very old connections. You are loyal in depth and light in maintenance, and the friends who survive the changes are genuinely permanent.

How practitioners read the 仆役宫

Classical manuals read this palace as servants and subordinates; modern readings widen it to audiences and networks. The logic is the same: how does the crowd treat you, and what can you get done through it.

A bright supportive star here reads as a lift from the collective — referrals, allies, an audience that shows up. A dim star reads as social drain: many contacts, little payload.

Compare with the Siblings Palace: if Friends is strong and Siblings is weak, you are built for wide networks over deep ones — and vice versa. Both are workable, but the strategies differ.

Common questions

Is this palace about my friends or my employees?
Originally subordinates; now both. The unifying question is how people at one remove — not family, not partners — behave toward your plans.
Does a weak Friends Palace mean I'll be unpopular?
No. It means breadth costs you more than it earns. Many people with dim stars here are deeply liked — by fewer people, at lower volume.
What does Ju Men here mean?
The mouth of the crowd: discussion, debate, and gossip as weather. Managed well it is an audience; managed badly it is a jury.
Can this palace predict social media success?
It describes how the crowd behaves around you, which is half the equation. The other half — what you actually put out — belongs to the Career and Children palaces.
